01 / Research

A geographic view of change

Across energy systems, coastal economies, and regional development, I ask who benefits from change, where impacts are felt, and how policy can respond.

01

Energy transitions

Renewable energy adoption, energy justice, power grid resilience, and the regional effects of decarbonization.

02

Blue economy

The economic and social geography of coastal and marine activity, from aquaculture to marine renewables.

03

Regional economies

Spatial modeling of local growth, care economies, food systems, and the different ways communities adapt.

Teaching interests

  • Energy transitions and environmental change
  • Research methods and spatial analysis
  • The Great Lakes and blue economy
  • Sustainable tourism and regional development

Current research connections

My work includes collaborations on community-centered energy transitions through JusticeFirst! and research on resilient, place-based wine economies in the Finger Lakes.
